IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--First Foundation recently announced that Vista Community Clinic and Mission Edge, two local nonprofits in the San Diego area, are the recipients of the company’s 2014 “Supporting Our Communities” initiative. Each organization will receive a combination of a cash grant of up to $5,000 to be applied to implement any of its capacity-building programs, as well as up to 20 hours of consulting services or interactive workshops and seminars, selected by the recipient.
In December 2013, the firm invited nonprofit organizations in its operating regions to apply for the initiative. “We received 142 applications this year that made our judging committee’s job very difficult,” said Scott Kavanaugh, CEO of First Foundation. “Each submission pulled on our heartstrings or shared our passion for supporting the communities we serve. We focused on choosing the organizations that we knew that our team’s efforts could assist to measurably affect change, fundraising efforts, heighten awareness, improve board participation or achieve the nonprofit’s other goals.”
First Foundation’s “Supporting Our Communities” program is designed to enhance the organizational strength and capacity of local charities. The combined value of the firm’s support of the communities it serves is $1 million over two years.
